Research findings play a crucial role in overcoming the diverse environmental and social challenges of global supply chains. It is essential to draw on existing research expertise, particularly concerning quality assurance and data security. Nevertheless, researchers are only partially successful in communicating the real benefits of their findings for entrepreneurial progress.
A key concern is the need for a holistic approach to communication along global supply chains. Focusing solely on one digitalization technology, such as the current hype around artificial intelligence, offers only limited progress. We need to combine digital tools to ensure this secure and transparent communication along the entire supply chain, setting new standards for efficient, responsible and, above all, circular business practices.
